For over four decades Chris has represented clients in a wide range of civil matters, from business formation, partnership formation and dissolution, employment law, personal and commercial lines insurance defense, administrative law, medical licensing and estate litigation. He has successfully tried (jury and non-jury) cases in state and federal courts throughout Western Washington.

Chris has extensive experience as an arbitrator and judge pro-tem and is a member of the AAA and FINRA arbitration panels. Chris also maintains an active state and federal mediation practice, having mediated hundreds of claims over many decades.

Chris volunteers his time and effort through Habitat for Humanity, Families Unlimited, and various pro bono activities and workshops. He has served for years as Special District Counsel for the Washington State Bar Association and was a co-founder of a work training program called Youth, Effort and Attitude (YEA), serving underprivileged minority youth in Tacoma’s Hilltop area. Chris is past President of the Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association, past President of the Robert J. Bryan American Inn of Court, past President of Tacoma City Club and is a member of various community and civic organizations.

Chris is an avid sailor and enjoys hiking in the great Northwest. His wife of 41 years is a retired pediatric intensive care nurse. He has three adult children.
